Perfect Start

A Perfect Start is crucial in several game modes (including time trials, some weekly events and some races at team events).

The ideal start will allow you to gain a small boost in acceleration at the beginning of a race. Therefore, if you have the "START BOOST" tuning component, a perfect start will activate with the rocket power which will pull you ahead of the competition.

You have to rev your engine during the countdown by holding the accelerator pedal to perform a perfect start.

The aim is to lift the RPM level so that the needle sits on the meter within the green segment (the green screen will glow in a brighter red) as the countdown ends.

Fuel

In the gameplay, fuel control plays a vital role. As you drive, your fuel gauge will slowly decrease (remember that all vehicles have fuel tanks of different sizes).

If you run out of fuel, you'll roll to a stop, and by collecting the red fuel canisters, you can prolong your ride and refill your fuel along the route.

If you have a gas canister nearby, a clock appears on the right side of the screen guide you how close you are to it.

Controls

The left pedal is the brake that slows down the car, and the right pedal is the accelerator that moves the vehicle forward.

Pressing the air brake will cause the car's rear to rise and turn on the central axis, potentially allowing you to frontflip.

Air controls need to be learned to correctly land after a leap and correct vehicle orientation on bumps and slopes.

When the car is airborne, these checks take on additional functionality. Pressing the accelerator in the air will raise and rotate the car's nose on the central axis, allowing you to flip back.

Besides, some vehicles and tuning components provide the third level of functionality

Boost Gauge

In the bottom right, each vehicle has a Boost Gauge showing the current boost pressure. The dial will rise from zero to the maximum as long as you uninterruptedly hold down the accelerator. It will lose all boost to release the throttle or braking, even in the air.

The needle will eventually start shaking once the boost meter is complete-this means that the boost pressure is close to release.

Soon afterwards, if your acceleration does not satisfy you, the boost pressure will be released, and your Overloaded Turbo will be engaged. It will be giving you a boost in speed.

You will need to release the accelerator or brake to start charging your turbo boost again after removing the boost pressure from your Overloaded Turbo.

A Landing Boost used to ensure the vehicle lands from a long jump of with all its wheels simultaneously touching the ground.

A sudden "rush" forward of speed by your vehicle as well as a discharge of sparks from your wheels.  When you hear a distinctive sound that would mean successfully executing this move.

Then you combine it with "JUMPSHOCKS" and trigger it at the right time, which also gives you a boost.   Correctly executed jumps can increase your momentum for a longer time.
